Hi, I’m Rachel.

I’m the kind of person who can lose an entire afternoon in my wardrobe.

Not in a stressful “I have nothing to wear” way, but in a slow, curious, what happens if I try this with that kind of way. The feel of a good fabric, the story behind a piece, the moment you put something on and think, yes, this is me.

That’s why I studied Fashion Design in NCAD, because I wanted to properly understand clothes. How they’re made, how they fit, the different fabrics, the why behind the designs. I fell in love with design and I have spent the last ten years working as a designer for different Irish brands, creating beautiful products and building a career that looked right on paper.

And I did enjoy a lot of it, but something always felt slightly off.

Over time I realised I didn’t want to spend my life adding more stuff into the world, especially when so many people already feel overwhelmed by what’s in their wardrobes. At the same time, I could see it everywhere around me. Friends stressed about what to wear, family panic-packing for trips, people standing in changing rooms feeling frustrated or disconnected from themselves.

I kept thinking, this is something I know I can help people with.

So I went back to where it all started. Growing up, my dream job was to be a personal shopper. Last year, I finally listened to that. I trained in Personal Styling with the London College of Fashion, left my corporate job, and started building something that actually aligns with how I want to live and the kind of impact I want to have.

Something slower, more human, and actually useful.

I also won’t pretend it was a neat or easy decision. In my mid twenties I was diagnosed with a long term illness, which completely changed how I see time and energy and what actually matters. And more recently, I reached burnout in my corporate job.

Between the two, I realised I didn’t want to keep waiting to build a life I actually enjoy. I want a slower pace, a life near the sea, and work that genuinely helps people, even if it is in a small way.

And so I launched Rachel Blanckensee Styling.

My Approach

I’m not here to tell you what you should wear.

I’m not going to hand you a list of rules or tell you what is flattering or what your wardrobe is missing. I’m also not interested in turning you into a different version of yourself.

What I do is a bit quieter than that, and I think a lot more useful.

I help you figure out what you actually like, not what you think you should like or what you’ve been told works. We look at your life, your routines, your energy, your body, your personality, and we build your style from there.

It is much more like learning a skill than following advice.

So instead of needing someone to tell you what to wear, you start learning how to decide for yourself. You begin to trust your own taste, and getting dressed becomes something that takes less energy, not more.

Most people don’t need more clothes. They need less noise. They need a way to shop with intention, to stop second guessing themselves, and to feel like themselves in what they’re wearing.

And that’s what we’ll do together.

Who I Work With

Most of the people I work with feel a bit stuck when they arrive.

They’re spending too much money on clothes they don’t wear, getting dressed feels harder than it should, and they don’t quite recognise themselves in what they own anymore. Some feel like they are not fashionable enough to care about style, others feel like they should be able to figure it out on their own and feel a bit weird asking for help.

A lot of the time, they are just overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.

I especially love working with people who feel a bit outside of the typical fashion space, whether that’s because of their body, their gender identity, or just never really seeing themselves reflected in it.

That includes people who are curvy or plus size, non binary or gender non-conforming, neurodivergent, or simply people who are tired of feeling like fashion is not for them.

You don’t need to be ‘into fashion’ to want this to feel better. You just need to want a bit more ease, a bit more clarity, and to feel like yourself in your clothes again.

What I Believe

Style isn’t about following rules.
It isn’t about dressing to look slimmer, to blend in or make yourself smaller.

It’s about finding your voice.

When you understand your own style and can filter out the noise of trends, influencers, and constant marketing, everything becomes clearer. You stop buying things for the wrong reasons. You start choosing pieces that actually feel right. Getting dressed becomes easier, more creative, and far less stressful.

I care deeply about creating a space where you feel comfortable.

No judgement. No pressure. No pretending.

I’ve had to relearn my own style over the years, especially after my body changed in my twenties. It’s not a linear journey, and I still have days where I feel it.

But I also know what it feels like to stand in your wardrobe and feel completely at home in what you’re wearing. And that’s what I want for you.
